Lauderhill Police Department's

Special Programs Unit

Lt. Tundra King oversees the PIP Program.

One of the Lauderhill Police Department's PIP Cruisers.

  • Does your child run away often?
  • Does your child keep "bad company"?
  • Does your child exhibit a negative and/or uncaring attitude?
  • Has your child been arrested for minor (misdemeanor) offenses?
  • Does your child lack self-discipline?
  • Has our child been picked up for truancy one or more times?

  • Is your child disrespectful at home and school?

If you have answered "yes" to one or more of the above questions, the Lauderhill Police Department has a great program to assist both you and your child.

Note: The program is unable to service those youths who have been arrested for and/or charged with any FELONY offense(s). Youth that are on any form of probation, house arrest or electronic monitoring are also ineligible.

The program is scheduled several times throughout the year, normally during Broward County's Spring Break Week, Summer Months (June, July & August) and during the winter holiday break. (The times of the program may change depending upon seasonal or operational needs.) The program fee is $175 per child and is non-refundable. The fee pays for uniforms, snacks, lunch, books, and one mandatory Family Counseling Session. Class size is limited to 30 students per session. Acceptance is on a first come, first served basis. Open, print, and complete this application in order to enlist your child today. (This is a "read-only" document.)

The PIP program is hosted by the Lauderhill Police Department. This non-residential, para-military program is held for 5-days (unless otherwise noted). The program is a structured, diversionary program designed to empower parents and to teach youth to be respectful and law abiding citizens. If you have any questions, please contact Lieutenant T. King at (954) 717-4626.
